Brazilian style vegan and vegetarian homemade meals

Hi, there! My name is Anna Paula Rodrigues. I am originally from Brazil and I’ve been living in New Zealand for the last 6 years, where I have had the pleasure of cooking for several people, continuing my family tradition of serving food to socialize.

But cooking didn’t start six years ago for me! I come from a family whose habit of sitting at the kitchen table and chatting about food while eating is as natural as breathing. We love to eat; therefore, we all learned how to cook. Kind of like that old saying: if you want something done properly, do it yourself.

Not to be cocky or anything. I appreciate other people’s dishes just as much. Cooking came to me as a necessity as well. I have been a pescatarian (I only eat fish) for 23 years (the only one in my family) and have had to adapt many of my favorite Brazilian and international dishes to my palate. Over the years, I have also swung back and forth between vegetarianism and veganism, which has also inspired me to come up with vegetarian or vegan meals that are healthy and delicious. Sometimes, not entirely healthy 😉 as I do love some deep-fried potatoes and other snacks.

This blog is to promote my personal cook services and to publish some of the recipes I’ve created or adapted from original recipes to serve at friends’ get-togethers and family reunions. Additionally, I offer to cook at people’s homes, for those who can’t find the time or the energy to cook dinner after a day’s work, but still long for that good, homemade meal.

My goal is to serve people some simple, easy to make vegan or vegetarian dishes.
